Booking with Wise Move provides a comprehensive service. Our moving companies are with you at every stage to assist.
If packaging materials are required, we’ll ensure they arrive well in advance of your move to streamline the process. Should you need guidance or advice on how best to prepare and what to expect, we’re always just a phone call or email away.
For packing, we recommend keeping box weights at 20kg or less, allowing safe stacking without damage. If you prefer larger boxes, be sure to label them as heavy for appropriate placement within the truck.
Likewise, a prominent FRAGILE sticker on boxes containing glass, ceramics, or other breakables will ensure they are handled with utmost care at all times.
Please note, there are certain items we cannot legally move, including explosives, illegal drugs, firearms, dangerous chemicals, jewellery, frozen goods, and cash. To ensure a seamless moving experience, it's best to consult us if you have any concerns about your cargo, so we can provide solutions.
On the moving day, our specialists will handle all large furniture and heavy items, placing them safely in trucks with smaller boxed items to protect their integrity. Each mover is skilled in stacking and securing furniture and items for safe transit.
Upon arrival, your movers will assist with unloading and will follow your instructions for placing boxes, furniture, and installations. After unloading, if you have any questions or concerns, they will gladly assist wherever possible.

When moving house, professional packing isn't simply advisable—it's essential. Even with highly experienced moving teams managing your belongings, the packing process itself plays a crucial technical role in preventing damage or breakage. Proper packing provides essential cushioning, structural integrity, shock absorption, and secure containment, all of which are critical during transportation.
At Wise Move, we have assembled a network of South Africa’s premier packing specialists, thoroughly trained in advanced and technical packing methodologies tailored specifically for diverse household items. Our moving teams have extensive knowledge of packing materials, methods, weight distribution, and transport dynamics, enabling them to safely handle everything from fragile antiques and fine ceramics to sophisticated electronics, musical instruments, bulky furniture, and household appliances.
For fragile and highly sensitive items, such as fine china, glassware, artwork, or antiques, our teams employ an intricate Fragile Packing procedure. Each item undergoes a technical multi-step packing process beginning with acid-free tissue paper to guard against scratches, chemical reactions, or surface damage. This is followed by individual wrapping in multiple layers of high-density, industrial-grade bubble wrap designed specifically for superior shock absorption and vibration dampening. Items are then securely packed into reinforced double-wall corrugated boxes. The boxes are systematically arranged and clearly marked for identification, ensuring careful handling throughout the entire relocation process.
For furniture and larger household items such as cabinets, sofas, tables, and kitchen appliances, our teams utilise Blanket Packing—a highly technical method leveraging thick, durable, professional-grade moving blankets. Each item is expertly wrapped and secured using robust strapping or stretch film to prevent shifting, friction, or abrasion during transport. The technical approach employed by our moving teams ensures not only physical protection but also breathability, reducing potential moisture build-up that could otherwise damage surfaces.
Beyond packing, Wise Move's moving teams consistently apply precise handling and vehicle loading procedures. Items are meticulously arranged within moving trucks according to weight, size, and fragility, using advanced loading strategies to balance loads and optimise space utilisation. Securely strapped and braced to minimise shifting, items remain stable throughout transit, significantly reducing the potential for damage due to movement or vibration.
With Wise Move, your relocation is managed with technical precision and care, ensuring every item arrives safely and securely at your new home.
