As we'd explained to you and your mother, our employees stated that the fridge was not in the same environment as provided in the picture which then can't be used as evidence to confirm that the fridge was not already moved & damaged. As soon as our employees arrived at the collection point premises, they'd immediately wrapped your fridge in blankets, and had you behind them all the way until they loaded it on the truck.

Our driver provided your mother with a picture taken at the collection point after we'd collected your fridge, where it is clearly visible that the fridge was wrapped properly, strapped to the wall in the truck (in the same manor from JHB all the way through to Durban) , with nothing in front of it, which voids any chances of the fridge being damaged in transit.

Furthermore, the damage on the fridge looks like something that was a result of something making direct contact with the fridge door, which is impossible to have happened when your fridge was wrapped, with no tears or damages to the blanket when we offloaded.

The only error made by our employees is the fact that they'd not done a thorough inspection of the fridge prior to loading, to safeguard us from having damages which were made prior to our handling being assigned to us.

We always do our very best to ensure items are protected during transit.

It appears there may have been a miscommunication between yourself and the person present at the collection address. Many of the items, including the mirror tray, were already wrapped in cling wrap prior to our handling. The mirror tray also contained items inside while packaged, which may have contributed to the small crack on the corner.

We take great care when handling all clients’ belongings. However, as outlined in our terms, we cannot accept responsibility for damage to fragile items that were not professionally packed by Silverline Transport and Removals.

Regarding your ratings:

Communication: We kept you informed throughout the process, from collection through to delivery.

Care of goods: Apart from the mirror tray mentioned above, all other items were delivered in the same condition as collected.

Professionalism: At all times, we conducted ourselves professionally and communicated our position clearly and respectfully.

Regarding the issue with 2 of our employees not having their id's on them, we'd only received confirmation from you 2 hours before collection, and were not informed of the estate at collection requiring IDs for everyone in the vehicle we were collecting in, as it was our first time entering that specific estate.

We have however taken action to ensure this does not happen again.
