I chose Skonza Logistics for my house move from Pretoria to Cape Town because they offered a competitive price, and because the reviews said they were fantastic, particularly their communication. Unfortunately, this was not my experience.
In terms of coordination, this was done by the business owner, Siya. The arrival to pick up my goods was delayed many many times and ultimately meant my farewell dinner did not go off as planned. I had to constantly follow up to find out what was happening. But the two gentleman who arrived and actually did the packing were friendly and helpful. However, what disturbed me most about this moving experience was Siya's unpredictable mood. It shifted from being positive and professional at one moment to then either refusing to talk to me or - on two occasions - calling me and ranting for 3-4 minutes without even say who it was that was calling, or giving me a chance to get a word in. And then it was back to being professional and helpful. It was the most bizarre behaviour I've ever experienced from anyone, let alone someone I'm paying to provide me with a service. It was unnerving, and made a stressful process of leaving my home and friends behind, even harder.
I have not yet unpacked all the 40-odd plant pots and 20-odd boxes that have since been delivered in Cape Town. But what I can see is that one of the five large plants in a pot has been completely mangled in the move, but will survive; and another has multiple branches broken. But everything else does seems to be fine.
I don't understand why my experience was seemingly so different to others'. But the bottom line for me is that I cannot recommend this removal company.

There was a delay on the day due to an unforeseen circumstance involving the driver’s health. Despite this, the team proceeded with the move and ensured that your booking was completed rather than cancelled.
Care of Goods:
Upon delivery, confirmation was received that all items had arrived safely. We understand that concerns were later raised regarding specific items, and we take this seriously, but we would like to note the initial confirmation of safe delivery.
Professionalism:
From booking through to completion, there was consistent communication across calls, emails, and WhatsApp over several weeks to plan and execute your move.
We acknowledge that the delay was frustrating, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused. However, based on the full context of the service provided, we believe the move was completed successfully under the circumstances.
