Always late, not by hours but by days. My boxes were wet but luckily no damage to goods. My kist legs broke off, two of them. They chipped my wall when moving items in.
Communication was horrid, to say the least. I had to get a second mover to get my goods off their truck because I completely lost faith in their capability to get my stuff from their truck into my new place.
I organised the dates and times with them months in advance, but days before I was tasked with moving my plans around because they wanted to load earlier then they wanted to unload later, then unload earlier, then unload later again. Once I got a hold of them (because they overslept on one of the arranged days) I followed the truck to keep them in my sight and payed for a second mover to shuttle my stuff off their truck.
I am also sure the labour were random workers since they did not look like they had experience carrying boxes, tables, beds, etc.
How on this earth did they get 10k reviews? They would need to move 2 loads every day for the last 10 years to get those numbers.
If they were the only moving company in South Africa and I had to move again I would move myself or never move at all.
Response from Skonza Logistics
I am sorry for the bad experience you had encountered
When you booked us you requested the 25th of October, you the changed the date to the 22nd of October and we agreed on that date, yes we asked to load earlier and you didn't agree. Our truck was in Joburg on Sunday 19 October and I notified you and it waited for your load on the 22nd, and we arrived to you on time as agreed for 10 am for collection and that was done successfully
Truck arrived on Cape Town on Thursday 23 and we wanted to off load your furniture but you had booked your storage for Saturday of which we do not work weekends and I asked to store your furniture and have it delivered to you on Monday and we had a delay and apologized to you and delivered the furniture on Tuesday 28 and on time.
The chest of drawers leg was reported to you that the glue on it came off, I noticed right after we left your house and I took a video and sent it to you. Leg was not broken but the glue that sticked it came off
When we came to deliver the security at the gate told us that only 3.5 ton vehicle are allowed inside the complex and that is when you had to organize other movers with a smaller vehicle to move you inside the complex
Your wet box was affected by the leak of a liquid that came from one of your boxes. you inspected the truck inside with me there was no water anywhere but one box was wet from the corner due to the leak of the liquid from your boxes
We are the best in what we do and I kindly apologize for the delayed delivery
