The move was not as smooth as the first one that we did with CC Transport in 2024. First, they tried to move the move date from the Saturday to the Friday with only 3 days' notice as there was a problem with another move that was booked (two of the three people moving work full time - one as a schoolteacher - so we could not be accommodated this). They then arrived 30 mins late and Christo left halfway through the move and left his wife in charge, which was not ideal. He was aware weeks before of the address but did not alert us to the fact that he knew the building and the difficulties in getting furniture up to the 6th floor. Furniture (including beds) had to stay in the garage overnight and we then had to book rope guys to hoist the furniture up on the Sunday morning, which cost us another R5000. A tall bookshelf was left standing outside, unattended, which then blew over in the wind and was slightly damaged. Couch legs were damaged while trying to be removed, which we then had to replace (I did take the cost off the final payment I made, which Christo agreed to). So, all in all, it was more stressful than it needed to be if the original attention we received in 2024 had been maintained with this move.
Response from CC Transport
Dear Lori,
Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. While we are glad we could assist you again, we are deeply sorry to hear that this experience did not live up to the high standard we set during your 2024 move.
We aim for every move to be seamless, and it is clear that on this occasion, we fell short in a few key areas:
Scheduling and Communication: We understand that the last-minute request to move your date caused unnecessary stress, especially given your work commitments. We value your time and apologize for the late arrival on the day.
On-site Management: We take note of your concerns regarding Christo leaving the site. We strive for consistent leadership throughout a move to ensure everything runs according to plan.
Logistics and Hoisting: We sincerely regret the oversight regarding the building’s layout. Had we flagged the 6th-floor access issues earlier, the R5000 hoisting expense and the overnight garage storage could have been avoided through better planning.
Damages: We are glad we could reach an agreement regarding the couch legs, but we are very sorry about the bookshelf being left unattended. This is not how we handle our clients' belongings.
We value your loyalty since 2024 and take this feedback seriously as a way to improve our internal checks. We hope to have the chance to restore your full confidence in us in the future.
Warm regards,
The CC Transport Team
